A Letter to Ottawa

To: Mr.Stephen Harper

Prime Minister of Canada

Dear Mr. Harper,

This is the second time in 55 years I have ever written to this office, but I feel it necessary to register my profound disappointment and displeasure with your recent decision to prorogue our country's Parliament for no good reason whatsoever. Given the lamentable financial state of affairs, the widespread interest in the proceedings pursuant to the questions about the handling of prisoners in Afghanistan and the declining opinion among our allies of Canada's foreign policies, including climate change, it seems that there is much work to be done.

Instead, you have chosen to unilaterally and arbitrarily shut down the one place in the country where these and other questions can be answered and these challenges can be addressed.Shame on you, sir. Your actions are disgraceful, and will not be forgotten.
